Outside Area

Rainbow Day Nursery Outside Area

We have two Outdoor Play Areas at the Rainbow Private Day Nursery and when the Larne weather permits we actively encourage Outdoor Play.

Back Play Area

The Play Area at the back of the Nursery is secured by a 4 foot fence and is all grass. The Back Play Area is used by the After-Schools children to play football, rounders, dodge ball etc.

The Toddlers use it’s tunnels, wheeled toys, small climbing frame and slides.

Front Play Area

The Nursery Front Play Area boasts a secure wall enclosing it. It also provides purpose built permanent play equipment which includes a large slide, rock wall, climbing frame, tunnel and Wendy House for role play.

The Rainbow Front Play Area is covered with safety surface including the grass area.

There is an area for wheeled toys, sand and water trays and construction, with a garden area for the children to plant seeds, nurture them or just enjoy getting their hands dirty!

We also unleash the children’s creativity by encouraging them to draw with chalks on the concrete walls surrounding the Play Area.

The Rainbow Farm

We ask for Parental Consent to allow the children to take part in Nature Walks around the farm.

The children can view the farm animals such as Charlie & Dennis the Horses,  as well as viewing the Hens being fed and help collect their eggs.

The children can also view the Sheep and their Lambs. In Spring Time they may even get the opportunity to feed a new born Lamb!
